Concertgoers will temporarily visit other countries Sunday via the Disneyland theme, "It's A Small World," at the Pioneer Park Picnic Pops concert series kickoff.

The Nevada County Concert Band will present the free 5 p.m. kickoff concert at Pioneer Park's bandshell in Nevada City.

Songs will include "Waltzing Matilda," "Can Can," "Tequila" and "La Bamba."

Even though the pieces are from other countries, all are very familiar, said Mary Whitmore, band president.

Trumpet soloist Joe Siemers will be featured on "Trumpet in the Night" and "Caribbean Fantasy."

Conductor Patti Carter will provide facts about instruments played in the concert.

Audience members can bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic dinners. Light refreshments will be sold during the two-hour concert.
