Music played by the Nevada County Concert Band Sunday at Nevada City's Pioneer Park will be familiar to all members of the family. That's due to the concert's theme - "Cartoon Classics."

Conductor Cheryl Baker will lead the band in "Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2" (heard in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" when Daffy Duck and Donald Duck play piano together), "The Barber of Seville Goes to the Devil" (during Elmer Fudd and Bugs Bunny's constant battles in the "Bugs Bunny" cartoons), "William Tell Overture" (heard in the "Lone Ranger" comics, radio shows and movies), "Pomp & Circumstance No. 3" (from the movie "Fantasia 2000" when Donald Duck portrays Noah trying to load and sail the Ark) and "Heigh-Ho" (the dwarfs' marching song in the movie "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs").

Sunday's 5 p.m. concert is the second of three annual "Pioneer Park Pops" summer concerts presented by the concert band.

Bring lawn chairs and picnic baskets for this free outdoor performance.
